A beautiful friendship -Eine ganz besondere Freundschaft
Friendship has the power to shape our lives. Join us this Shabbat morning in the Rabbi Samuel Chiel Sanctuary as our member Ruth Tepper and her dear friend, Brit Kammler, share the profound impact a connection first forged through grappling with the trauma of the Holocaust has had on their lives in the decade since.
About our Guest Speakers
Ruth Tepper has been a member of Temple Emanuel for forty years. She has an MSW in social work with a specialty in gerontology. At the other end of the age spectrum, she has a certificate from Hebrew Cooleg in Early Childhood Education. She has enjoyed many years teaching in the TE Religious School and tutoring children for their B’nai Mitzvah. She has served in many Sisterhood positions at TE and loves our TE community.
Brit Kammler graduated high school in 2013 in Tubingen, Germany and then came to Boston as a volunteer with Action Reconciliation Service for Peace to work with the elderly at Hebrew Rehab Center. She returned to Germany in 2015 and began her studies for a degree in Theology. She studied at Yale Divinity School in 2018 and continued her studies in Berlin and Rome. Her interest lies in intercultural dialogue and trans-Atlantic relations. Brit began a teaching position at Dormition Abbey in Jerusalem in August, 2023 which was cut short by the war. She is currently a Lutheran minister in a church in Frankfurt.
