The Harry Kraft Youth Department offers exciting social, religious and athletic programming for children in grades 3-12 at Temple Emanuel. Many of our events occur at the synagogue (such as Shabbat dinners, Chanukah parties, lounge nights, Turkey Dance) and other events occur off site (such as snow tubing, movie nights, Red Sox and Celtic games) as we travel by bus to many events in the area. Our youth are integrally involved with many of the shul wide activities including reading torah on the High Holidays, celebrating Purim and Yom Ha'Atzmaut and participating in the Holocaust program. We are fortunate to have a mature, experienced staff that provide excellent supervision for our youth and have been with us for a number of years. The Solomon Youth Lounge is enjoyed by children of all ages before religious school and on weekends. Parents can help support the youth department by gently suggesting that your children participate in our events and/or by joining the youth committee and offering guidance and suggestions on how we can improve the department.
Our goal is to provide a place for your children to enjoy being with their friends in an informal Jewish setting, make new friends, and have fun and learn at the same time. We look forward to seeing your child (ren) soon at one of our events or around the shul.
How you can get involved:
*Register your kids for the Youth Department-registration forms are available in the fall and throughout the year. Click here for USY REGISTRATION FORM
*Sign up your kids for events! Events once a month means whenever you sign up, your child will have an event waiting around the corner.
*Encourage your children to hang out in the Solomon Youth lounge before Religious School.
*Give us your Butcherie receipts. We receive a percentage of your purchase to give as our Tikkun Olam donation to the New England Region of USY.
* Learn more about our three USY groups.
