AJ Helman (they/them/theirs) is an artist, theatermaker, and educator residing in Boston, Massachusetts after graduating from Emerson College in 2020 with a BFA in Theater Education and Performance. They grew up locally at Temple Emanu-El in Haverhill, MA under the leadership of Rabbi Ira Korinow and was born while their parents were the NFTY-affiliated youth group advisors. AJ has worked at other local synagogues in the Greater Boston Area as a Hebrew Tutor and after-school teacher and is so excited to be part of the Temple Emanuel Newton community. When they are not coordinating all life cycle events at the synagogue, they can be found hiking with their dog, Bruno, and crocheting.
