Community

Temple Emanuel’s TE Tots programs are for our new generation of children. We believe it’s never too early to give your children the building blocks to live a Jewish life. Our programs and events are geared toward families with children zero to five years old.

We are a welcoming and vibrant synagogue community that offers an array of programming/ religious services for youth and adults of all ages and stages. Engaging our members in these activities helps create a sense of joy and belonging, and we are here to help acclimate and welcome our new members while continuously receiving feedback from our current members to gauge interest and ensure satisfaction in our Temple Emanuel programs.

Temple Emanuel youth participate in monthly social gatherings, classes with the rabbis and education staff, teen choir and band, Israeli dancing, Teens for Tikkun social action group, AIPAC, as aides in our religious school and much more.

Yisod is Temple Emanuel’s young adult community. We spend time together celebrating Shabbat and Jewish holidays, going out for adventures in Boston, and engaging in Jewish learning. Together we are building a foundation (Yisod) for our Jewish future.

Sisterhood Temple Emanuel is a caring, vibrant community with a multigenerational membership comprised of women engaged in synagogue life at many levels.

The Temple Emanuel Brotherhood organizes and sponsors numerous religious, social and educational events throughout the year.

Welcome to Minyan Ma'or ("light"), which meets on Shabbat mornings and chagim in Reisman Hall. Our services are lay-led and egalitarian.  We are a diverse, inclusive community ranging from single households to families across the age spectrum. Our founding membership comes from the Newton Centre Minyan.

As we emerge from the pandemic, we’re planting seeds of learning and connection. TE Connects brings together small groups of Temple Emanuel members every month to visit, share ideas, and engage in Jewish learning together.

Jewish Singles Mingle is a social group for Jewish singles ages 50-65. Founded in June 2016, our group is one of the only groups of its kind in the Greater Boston Jewish Community.

Active Older Adult Programming welcomes seniors on Tuesday afternoons to share a variety of programs such as music, bingo, health, nutrition, Israel, books, and trips. Refreshments are served. New members, especially from Temple Emanuel families, are welcome.

We are congregants dedicated to photographically capturing key moments of synagogue events throughout the year.

We extend a warm welcome to anyone seeking a connection to God, to Torah, or simply wanting to learn more about the Jewish people.
