Join us for a celebratory brunch to open this year’s 2024-2025 Torah Fund campaign, Am Yisrael Chai.
The Torah Fund campaign is the major fundraiser of the Women’s League for Conservative Judaism supporting scholarships and programming at the five Conservative/Masorti Institutes of higher learning worldwide, including the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York (attended by our Rabbi Wesley Gardenswartz), the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies in California (attended by our Rabbi Michelle Robinson), and the Seminario Rabinico Latinoamericano in Argentina (attended by our Cantor Elias Rosemberg).
Our speaker, Maya Shiloni, is an Israeli-American junior at Harvard College studying Government and Economics. Her academic interests include international relations, constitutional law, and Middle Eastern politics. Maya’s passion for politics drove her to get involved in the Institute of Politics at the Harvard Kennedy School and to intern with Knesset Member Meirav Cohen and U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-05).
Maya is an opinion editor and columnist at The Crimson, Harvard’s leading student newspaper. A lifelong dancer, she is a three-time gold medalist at the Dance World Cup and an active member of the Harvard Ballet Company and several theater student productions. Maya served four years in the IDF’s Unit 8200 as an intelligence project manager and product manager.
We are thrilled to be honoring Sheryl Kalis as this year’s Woman of Distinction for her dedicated service to Temple Emanuel and the community.
The musical program will feature Cantor Elias Rosemberg.
Don’t miss this opportunity to support Jewish education and future leaders, and to honor Sheryl Kalis!
Everyone is welcome!
