This Thursday morning, October 24th, during Shemini Atzeret services in the Rabbi Samuel Chiel Sanctuary from 9:30am- 12:00pm, join us to hear from Nova Survivor. A special Yizkor will be recited.
About Daniel Vaknin
Daniel Vaknin is the grandchild of Holocaust survivors, a legacy that took on new meaning after he became a survivor himself during the harrowing events of October 7th at the Nova Music Festival. In the face of unimaginable danger, Daniel fought to save lives and ultimately found refuge in the home of a Holocaust survivor in Kibbutz Saad. As a DJ and music event producer, Daniel has always been passionate about bringing joy and dance to others. In the wake of the October 7th tragedy, he has channeled this passion into helping survivors heal and raising awareness for the hostages, including his own friends. Although ten months have passed, for the 3,500 survivors of Nova, every day feels like October 8th. Daniel, along with his community, continues to endure extreme post-traumatic symptoms while navigating the daily challenges of rebuilding their lives. Today, Daniel travels the world as a representative of the Tribe of Nova Foundation, a nonprofit organization that emerged from a festival production group. The foundation is dedicated to providing critical psychological, emotional, social, and welfare support to Nova survivors. Through his appearances, Daniel shares his story, discusses his battles with post-trauma, and engages with communities through Q&A sessions and photo opportunities.
