Opening Event –  with Lisa Yves
Lisa Yves is an American vocalist with a love of jazz and a twist of retro soul. Like Cyndi Lauper and Lady Gaga, Lisa was born in Queens, New York, where she started to sing and play piano at age 10. She decided at a very early age that she wanted to be like Carole King and Barbra Streisand.

Lisa attended New York University where she was the first female jazz vocalist and received her bachelors degree in Vocal jazz performance. Lisa Studied with jazz legends Marion Cowings, Kim Kalesti, and Joe Lovano.

Lisa has sung with Harry Connick Jr., Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops and starred in Rocker Moms, a TV reality series.

Lisa will delight us with the stories of Barbra Streisand’s life, career, and songs. Don’t miss hits such as PEOPLE, Evergreen, I’m The Greatest, Star, You Don’t Bring Me Flowers, The Way We WERE, Second Hand Rose, and more.

American Songbook, music performed by Robert Christopherson of Berklee College of Music
Robert Christopherson is a professor of piano at the Berklee College of Music where he teaches in the Piano and Ensemble departments.

He is an author for Berklee’s Jazz Standards for Piano Solo, on line Jazz piano.

He performs frequently throughout New England as a soloist and with various ensembles. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Berklee and studied piano, improvisation and composition with the late jazz guru Charlie Banacos and voice with Eddie Watson.

Paid Up Membership Luncheon featuring Bruce hambro, cultural historian, on the music and life of Rodgers and Hart/Rodgers and Hammerstein Bruce Hambro is a cultural historian. Formerly a business manager and booking agent in the music and film industries, he has more recently been a teacher in the Massachusetts public school system.

Currently, Bruce presents audio-visual lectures at Senior Centers and Senior Living Communities throughout Eastern New England. His series of presentations include one-hour programs about legendary singers and composers of the “Great American Songbook” such as: Bing Crosby, Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra, the Gershwins, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin and Barbra Streisand. Mr. Hambro has been featured on M.I.T.’s WMBR FM radio station as well as on the Town of Needham Cable News Channel.

This “Yankee Doodle Dandy” program brings you back to a time before TV, CD’s, and DVD’s. And you don’t have to “walk a million miles” for miles of smiles!

Mel Simons Has been a regular on WBZ Radio for decades with his trivia show “The Audio Clip Trivia Quiz”. Mel calls it trivia without questions. Mel will play voices, a singer, and sports personality, a comedian, and the listener needs to identify the voice of the person or persons in the clip. Mel had graced the airwaves for 14 years with Larry Glick – 6 years with Bob Raleigh and 13 years with Steve LeVeille. Mel is now a regular with Morgan White Jr. and also Bradley Jay on WBZ Radio as he continues his Audio Clip Trivia Quiz for the Boston late night audience and 38 states and the best provinces in Canada.
