Brotherhood Shabbat

March 23 @ 9:30 am - 12:00 pm

Event Series Event Series (See All)

Please join us as Brotherhood leads a special Shabbat morning service that honors many of the men who help keep our community vibrant and strong. Be there as we celebrate passing our traditions from generation to generation (l’dor v’dor) with a diverse lineup of participants.

It is also Shabbat Zachor, which highlights the collective impact of antisemitism since October 7th. Our speakers will delve into the meaning of Shabbat Zachor and how to deal with these challenging times.

Our guest speaker, Dr. Irle Goldman, has been a clinical psychologist and teacher of psychotherapy for the past 50 years. He tries to help people become our “best selves” by tuning in to our hopes, our talents, our possibilities…instead of just noticing our challenges and disappointments and failures. Irle will talk about how our Jewish tradition and our Brotherhood can be one path towards this goal.

The d’var torah will be presented by Rabbi Elie Lehmann. As Director of Hadar Boston, Elie loves learning Torah with people of all backgrounds. He served as Campus Rabbi at Boston University Hillel and was the Inaugural Director of Kulanu’s Global Teaching Fellows, with whom he taught and built curricula for Jewish communities in Kenya, Ghana, India and beyond.

Special aliyot will honor our past presidents, current leadership, our softball teams/book clubs/HMV/World Wide Wrap activities and our Sunday morning bike riders. Services will be led by Marc Stober and Danny Mandeau. Torah readers include Neal Farber, Max Breslau, Howard Breslau, David Beckman, Rob Finkel, David Mamon and Barry Bergman, our Keeper of the Flame. Our Haftorah reader is David Rozenson.

Celebrate with us at our festive kiddush following the service!
