Temple Emanuel partners with Cradles to Crayons

Letter from Cradles to Crayons thanking Temple Emanuel for their support

“My kids are blessed because somebody had a kind heart to give them something that they don’t have. Cradles to Crayons® is a joy to my life.” — Parent

2 hours volunteered. 1,064 kids served.
This is the power of community.

Dear Carol,

On behalf of Cradles to Crayons and the children we serve, we would like to thank you for your service at the Temple Emanuel Community Volunteer Event. Through your collection efforts and an afternoon of service — you were able to impact 1,064 children! Among the cozy sweaters, classic bedtime stories, lego sets, and sneakers, the Temple community helped truly give the gift of warmth by collecting 255 winter coats.  That means 255 children will now have a safe, warm walk to school, a day playing in the snow with friends, and the ability to just be a kid.

We would like to recognize Temple Emanuel for hosting us and Community Champion, Carol Mersky, for her leadership. In addition, we would like to thank Ellen Kass, Wendy Kraft, Joanne Kazarian, Gabby Seligman, Wayne Goldstein, and our volunteer leaders for their exceptional efforts and support of this event. Congratulations to the young leaders who organized collections at 17 local host sites for their Mitzvah service project — directly contributing to the Temple’s drive.

We encourage you, as a family, to stay engaged this winter and beyond. Below we’ve outlined key ways to continue to stay involved:

Support our Gear Up for Winter program!  Keep a child safe and warm for just $33. Donate online here.

Join the Family Leadership Circle: A group of generous and dedicated families who play a critical role in sustaining our mission. Members make an annual financial contribution and enjoy exclusive year-round benefits. Learn more here.

On behalf of the 40,000 children we aim serve this winter, many thanks to you and your family.

Warmly,
