Day School Family Connection

Temple Emanuel Day School Family Connection

Temple Emanuel has a large number of families who are sending their children to local Jewish day schools for their Jewish education. There are TE kids currently enrolled at the Solomon Schechter Day School, the Rashi School, the Jewish Community Day School, Maimonides, Shaloh House and Gann Academy.

Temple Emanuel is committed to strengthening and continuing our connection with our day school families. There are many exciting opportunities planned for TE Day School families to join together with other families in our greater Temple Emanuel community to meet and get to know each other.

While our TE Day School students pursue their formal Jewish education outside the Temple Emanuel classrooms, we make every effort to integrate them into active congregational life. Students are also encouraged to participate in Temple social activities for their respective ages by participating in Kadima and USY activities. In preparation for the Bar/t Mitzvah year, the B’nai Mitzvah Seminar (Join the Jewish Conversation) is offered for all TE students in 6th grade, at which both Temple Emanuel Religious School and day school students and their parents participate together.

Many of these students regularly attend Shabbat and Yom Tov services with their families, and their advanced learning enables them to serve as models for active participation in both youth services and adult services.

Communication is key to our success. To that end we will continue to send you directed emails from time to time during the year to bring your image attention to upcoming activities for your family. We are continuing to update our contact information. We do not have emails for all Day School families. Please send your contact email(s) of choice to Shaun Sander, Temple Emanuel’s Director of Web and Database Operations.
