Temple Emanuel is a Conservative, fully egalitarian congregation affiliated with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism and the Synagogue Council of Massachusetts. Our membership of 1,100+ families represents a diversity of Jews from Newton and surrounding communities. With our broad spectrum of religious, cultural, social & educational activities, there are as many reasons to join Temple Emanuel as there are Jews in our congregation.

SHABBAT SERVICES FOR CHILDREN ALL SUMMER LONG

Join us all summer long at Temple Emanuel for Shabbat services for 0-12 year olds.

Although the Shabbat services will be geared towards younger children, all ages are invited to participate and help lead our younger children every Shabbat morning throughout the summer from 11am-12pm in our Children’s Chapel (Room 24/25). Julia Priest will lead the service accompanied by parents in prayer, song and movement as we celebrate Shabbat together. Enjoy challah and juice after each service.

Our children then participate with the entire congregation in the conclusion of the morning services in the Rabbi Samuel Chiel Sanctuary, and join everyone in the community at our weekly Kiddush immediately following services.

For more information, please call our Temple office at 617-558-8100.

Everyone Is Invited: Join the Daily Minyan
The essence of our Seven Gates initiative is the cultivation of a strong sense of community at Temple Emanuel. One of the points of entry into Emanuel's big tent is through the Gate of Prayer. The daily minyan is the oldest and most consistent form of community engaged in prayer. Our daily services are not just for memorializing loved ones, but also for moments of reflection and celebration. In support of those among us who are saying kaddish and to enrich our community and ourselves, we are inviting every Temple Emanuel member to attend one daily minyan each year during the week of his or her birthday. Can there be a better way to mark such an occasion? (Of course, everyone is welcome to join the minyan every day of the year!)
Evening Minyan: Sunday through Thursday at 7:30 PM
Shabbat Afternoon service: Varies according to the time of sunset
Morning Minyan: Sunday at 8:00 AM and Monday through Friday at 7:00 AM.
